In May 2011, Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope (ELofH) transmitted the sum of £25,000 to FoCT to support the establishment of a Jaipur Limb centre on the shores of Lake Victoria, and to establish “mobile clinics” to identify and prevent disabilities which can lead to limb amputation.

In August 2011, Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope Patron, Richard Bacon, and Trustee, Victoria Bacon, visited the Jaipur Limb Centre in Kagera, Tanzania – the first project which the charity is supporting to help limbless children abroad.

It has been a busy couple of months for FoCT here in Tanzania. We’ve been conducting disability surveys in remote villages around Lake Victoria, and referring clients for medical assistance.

We are delighted that by June 2010, FoCT had achieved its 2010 target of raising £10,000 and are therefore able to build two shower and toilet blocks in two adjacent schools for disabled and deaf children. We hope to start building by the end of the year.
