Making a better future for the children of Tanzania

Friends of the Children of Tanzania was established in 2007 in the UK to provide education, social and medical care and support to orphans, vulnerable and disabled children and their carers, in the Lake Victoria region of North West Tanzania in East Africa.

Our aim is to improve the health, education and quality of life of disadvantaged children to help them reach their full potential.

Partnership with Feltonfleet School

We are delighted to announce a new three year partnership with Feltonfleet School, Surrey.  They will be supporting our work with various fundraising events and they have already had a Wear a Hat day, sold hot dogs, and had a dress down day.  Alex has already given talks about FoCT to most year groups and we are looking forward to a happy and rewarding partnership.

Life Transforming support for children with disabling conditions

FoCT’s main focus is supporting kids with disabilities, or kids with injuries/conditions that will develop into permanent disabilities if left untreated. We support the treatment of kids with a wide range of conditions, such as cleft lip, osteomylitus, club foot, limb dislocations etc.

As a result of our biggest fundraiser to date, these children are having vital operations funded by FoCT in the coming months. Our money covers the cost of the operation and hospital charges, travelling expenses to and from the hospital, food, board and lodging for both the patient and their carer.
